Share powerful stories that celebrate the universality of the human condition to motivate and inspire people and create positive change in the world.

“The story of any one of us is in some measure the story of us all.”

- Fredrick Beuchner

Uno somos is Spanish for “we are one.”  At Uno Somos Films, we believe in the universality of the human condition: that despite cultural differences we are more alike than different; that each of us has a story to tell; that by sharing stories, we break down the barriers that separate us and begin to build true empathy; that empathy facilitates us taking those first few arduous steps to truly understanding each other.

"Neither REVOLUTION nor reformation can ultimately change a society, rather you must tell a new more powerful tale, one so PERSUASIVE that it sweeps away the old myths and becomes the PREFERRED story. "

- Ivan Illich

“I picked up a camera because it was my choice of weapons against what I hated most about the universe: racism, intolerance and poverty.”

- Gordon Parks

We believe, as Ivan Illich proclaimed, that a story is more powerful than a revolution in creating lasting change.  If we share stories, we create new collective myths that change the world.  We move forward as filmmaker and photographer Gordon Parks did with our “cameras as a weapon.”

So, stop what you are doing.  And as the common greeting in Papua New Guinea says –

Yumi Stori Nau (You Me Story Now).
